In May of last year, a world-renowned economist, Jean Tirole, joined Fudan University. Jean Tirole, the winner of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Economics and a professor at the Toulouse School of Economics in France, was appointed as the co-director of the "Fudan-Toulouse Institute for Innovation and Digital Economics" (FT-RIDE) academic committee, alongside Zhang Jun, a senior professor in the humanities at Fudan University and the Dean of the School of Economics.
